It is believed that unbalanced expression of glycosyltransferases involved in the glycosylation pathways, such as T synthase, β1,6-GlcNAc-transferase, sulfotransferase, and sialyltransferases, as well as altered availability of precursor monosaccharide molecules, is responsible for altered glycosylation patterns in cancer and thus are probably the main factors responsible for enhanced availability of TF disaccharide (15–19). Here, TF is linked to cancer.
