Subgroup analysis based on organ site of the tumor showed that high CAIX expression was significantly associated with shorter DFS in bladder (HR = 2.63, 95%CI 1.56–4.40), breast (HR = 1.74, 95%CI 1.34–2.27), colorectal (HR = 3.31, 95%CI 1.23–8.89), esophagus (HR = 2.70, 95%CI 2.08–3.50), head and neck (HR = 1.98, 95%CI 1.51–2.61), liver (HR = 1.51, 95%CI 1.26–1.81), lung (HR = 1.87, 95%CI 1.27–2.74), and soft tissue tumors (HR = 3.41, 95%CI 1.58–7.30).
