Administration of resveratrol to an endotoxin-induced uveitis (EIU) mouse model of ocular inflammation showed significant decline in oxidative damage (8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine generation) and suppression of NF-kB p65 translocation (NF-kB activation), leading to ocular anti-inflammatory effect (reduced levels of MCP-1 and ICAM-1) in the retina and the RPE-choroid [98]. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and uveitis.
