The last median RDW value >15% was independently associated with composite outcome, even after stepwise adjustment for potential confounders (sex, age, LVEF, atrial fibrillation, the presence of peripheral edema, NT-pro BNP level, sodium, urea, and Hb), whereas the last RDW as continuous variable did not remain significantly associated after adjustment for the confounding variables included in model 3 (the presence of peripheral edema, NT-pro BNP level, sodium, urea, and Hb) – Table 4 and Figure 3.
