Although CD3+ cells were one of the major producers of IL-17 during the development of septic peritonitis, probably, neutrophils might produce more IL-17 compared to CD3+ cells because the neutrophils, as we found in this study, could constitute up to 70% of the PLCs (Figure 3(b)), whereas CD3+ cells only constituted 10–15% of the PLCs (data not shown). Here, IL17A is linked to septic peritonitis.
