IL17A and septic peritonitis: Taken together, with the fact that highest dose of E. coli (2.4 × 108 CFUs) was the most deadly and the lowest dose of E. coli was the least deadly to the mice with septic peritonitis, we may deduce that increased expression of both sTLR9 and IL-17 in CD11b+ PMNs might benefit the survival of the mice with septic peritonitis and that the decreased expression of sTLR9 and increased expression of IL-17 in CD11b− PMNs may be detrimental to the mice.
