Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a hematological stem cell malignancy mediated by the BCR-ABL translocation between chromosome 9 and 22, t(9;22)(q34;q11) resulting in the Philadelphia chromosome in multipotent hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) [1–3]. Here, ABL1 is linked to chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
