In contrast to a new study that shows a minor contribution from TLR9 and TLR2 in inducing memory immunity to M. tb with live vaccines [35], the findings of our study highlights the significance of TLR responses not only for the possible influence they might have within TB disease, but the possible link they fulfil between innate and adaptive responses by activating B cells on an innate level which results in intrinsic adaptive responses from the B cells with subsequent cytokine production. Here, TLR2 is linked to tuberculosis.
