Pathway analysis using the DAVID database [33] showed that many differentially expressed genes were known to be involved in hepatocyte function, such as complement and coagulation cascades, metabolism, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, etc. Interestingly, a cluster of genes in cancer-associated pathways, such as the p53 and MAPK signaling pathways, were also regulated by HNF4α (Supplementary Figure S1). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
