TF and neoplasm: On the basis of analyses of results from the immunofluorescence-histocytochemical analysis and Cy7-fluorescence images of organs excised from tumor-bearing mice (Figure 5C), we conclude that KabC-platelets surface-coupled with transferrin are present within tumor microenvironments where they are retained by specific interactions between transferrin on the platelet surface and high levels of transferrin receptors on RPMI8826 cells.
