Interestingly, KLK10 has been recently shown to be associated with prognosis of colon and other cancers [58–60]. EPCAM was exclusively methylated in Lynch syndrome colorectal cancers with a frequency of 30% which is interesting given that germline deletion of EPCAM was reported to predispose to colorectal cancer in Lynch syndrome through methylation of MSH2 [32–34]. This evidence concerns the gene EPCAM and colorectal cancer.
