Tumours surgically removed from the mouse were disaggregated and GFP (cancer cell-specific), and tRFP expression (FoxA1- and FoxA2-depleted cell-specific) was used to isolate human cancer cells from mouse tumour stroma cells (Fig. 2a) in order to purify RNA for subsequent transcriptomic analysis (GSE61164 and Transcriptomic Analysis in Methods Section). The gene discussed is FOXA1; the disease is cancer.
