To assess whether dual deficiency of TNF and IL-10 or ongoing severe colitis affected the metabolism of these immune cells, the oxygen consumption rate (OCR, a measure of mitochondrial oxidation processes) and the extracellular acidification rate (ECAR, an indicator of glycolysis) were measured in CD4+ T lymphocytes derived from the spleen and the mesenteric lymph node. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and colitis.
