Another research group reported the whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing-based identification of the signal transducer and activator of the transcription factor 4 (STAT4) gene as a potential classic KS predisposing gene, and they suggested that the variation in the STAT4 gene is linked to KS/HHV-8 infection [30].
