In the present study, using input of genomic DNA, two different methylation-sensitive restriction enzymes, the sensitivity was 63–80 % at a specificity of 100 % for four different regions of RASSF1A. In contrast, the low sensitivities for detection of RASSF1A in the other studies could be due sodium bisulfite conversion of DNA, which may limit the amount of the rare tumor DNA [19–21, 23]. The gene discussed is RASSF1; the disease is neoplasm.
