Specifically, in prostate cancer, DAB2IP expression is repressed by promoter methylation and histone modification, primarily through the action of the histone methyltransferase EZH2 [12, 13], whereas in breast cancer [6], lung cancer [8], and gastrointestinal tumors [14], aberrant promoter hypermethylation was also shown to downregulate DAB2IP. This evidence concerns the gene DAB2IP and Familial prostate cancer.
