Multiple studies have consistently reported that, as compared to the healthy controls, the circulating levels of IL-6 were significantly higher in patients with different malignancies like colorectal cancer [33–36], breast cancer [37–40], pancreatic cancer [41], gastroesophageal cancer [42], gastric cancer [43], and non-small-cell lung carcinoma [44]. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and colorectal cancer.
