To assess the role of CAV3 in the palmitate‐induced susceptibility to insulin resistance, CAV3+/− and control CAV3+/+ 3 weeks old mice were transferred for 12 weeks to the following diets: (1) high‐caloric palmitate‐rich diet (PALM); (2) control low‐caloric (STD) diet; and (3) control high‐caloric diet where palmitate is replaced by triglycerides with medium length fatty acid residues (MCT).
