KDM4B and neurodevelopmental disorder: Two mutations of JMJD2B have been found in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) along with other histone demethylase enzymes, including JMJD1A and, JARID1B. 8 In addition to these enzymes, mutations of other histone demethylase genes including KDM6A, which is implicated in Kabuki syndrome,19 and JARID1C, which is implicated in X-linked mental retardation syndrome,20 are found in individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
