Two recent studies have found evidence of associations between maternal mental health and methylation of H19 and IGF2. Chen et al.25 reported increased methylation of the ICR located upstream of H19 in cord blood and placenta tissue of infants born to mothers with high self-reported stress and anxiety, whereas Vangeel et al.26 found decreased methylation of IGF2 DMR0 in association with maternal anxiety. Here, IGF2 is linked to Anxiety.
