Therefore, we aimed to investigate (i) associations between DNA methylation and T2D-related traits [glucose, insulin, HOMA-IR (homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance)]; (ii) the impact of BMI on these associations; (iii) associations between DNA methylation at the significant CpG sites and gene expression; and (iv) the enrichment for pathways linked to diabetes.
