Aberrant activation of NF-κB has been reported in various age-associated conditions, such as neurodegeneration, immunosenescence, inflammaging, sarcopenia and osteoporosis (reviewed in [12-14]), whereas studies involving mouse models have observed that NF-κB activation is a key determinant of accelerated aging and longevity [15, 16]. Here, NFKB1 is linked to osteoporosis.
