SLC9A1 and pulmonary hypertension: Our data also add to accumulating evidence supporting a central role for ROCK in promoting the pathogenesis and progression of pulmonary hypertension through control of a variety of pathways involved in both remodeling and vasoconstriction, and provide additional rationale for exploring ROCK and/or NHE1 inhibitors, especially those targeted specifically to the lung, as a future therapeutic option.
