Evaluation of the anti-inflammatory effects of CF using LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages revealed that CF markedly suppressed the generation of IL-6 and TNF-α, and inhibited the protein expression of iNOS and COX-2, as well as the consequent secretion of NO, with a strong reduction in the intracellular ROS level. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is cystic fibrosis.
