MYC and colorectal carcinoma: Through this analysis we identified potential risk variants for CRC mapped to regions in the proximity of genes encoding WNT4 and CDC42, previously shown to be involved in the risk of CRC (14); MAPKAPK5, a member of the MAPK family reported to regulate MYC protein levels (18); and the transcription factor CEBPB, found to be highly expressed in samples derived from CRC patients (21).
