A phase 2 single arm window of opportunity trial of 39 breast cancer cases [37] showed significant reduction in Ki67 (36.5 to 33.5 %, p = 0.016) and an increase in TUNEL staining (0.56 to 1.05, p = 0.004) along with significant fall in HOMA (homeostatic model assessment, used for determining the status of insulin resistance) [38]. This evidence concerns the gene MKI67 and breast cancer.
