The gene mutation is prevalent in Asian PCG patients, presenting in 70% of Iran patients,14 74% of South Korean patients,15 but surprisingly only 20% of Japanese patients.16 The CYP1B1 mutations have also been documented to be present in patients with juvenile open angle glaucoma in Korea and Iran, indicating a possible etiological link between PCG and juvenile open angle glaucoma.14, 15. This evidence concerns the gene CYP1B1 and Juvenile glaucoma.
