There was a pronounced increase in frequency of total T cells expressing CD69 in BPH tissue (0.6% vs. 69.2%, p=<0.0001), and CD69 was expressed more frequently by CD8+ T cells than CD4+ T cells (76.5% vs. 55.5% in BPH tissue) (Figure 1 and Table 3). Here, CD69 is linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia.
