NOTCH1 and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia: In several CLL cases, a point mutation in the 3′‐UTR of the NOTCH1 gene creates a novel splice acceptor site which together with a cryptic splice site in the coding sequence leads to an additional splicing event and the deletion of 158 coding nucleotides including a PEST signal and hence leading to protein stabilization (Puente et al, 2015).
