Our approach to diagnostics of CRC is based on the determination of serological signatures in blood of CRC patients using a combination of a microarray of hemispherical hydrogel cells containing immobilized antibodies specific to CEA, CA 19–9, CA 125, CA 15–3, HCG, and AFP (oncochip) and a glycochip containing immobilized glycans specific to antiglycan antibodies associated with CRC and antibodies against human immunoglobulins IgG, IgA, and IgM. The gene discussed is CEACAM5; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
