CCL20 and neoplasm: The E6 and E7-dependent reduction in keratinocyte secretion of some potent chemoattractant, including macrophage inflammatory protein 3 alpha (CCL20, MIP-3α) and IL-8, and the down-regulation of the Toll-like receptor TLR9, which play an important role in virus DNA clearance, seem to favor long-term HPV persistence and the establishment of neoplasia [30–33].
