We found that elevated serum LDH level (>230 u/L), thrombocytopenia (platelet count <105/mL) and hypoalbuminemia (albumin level <3.5 g/dL) were independent risk factors for death at multivariate analysis: the Table 3 describes the prevalence of these risk factors in different risk classes of the CURB-65 and PSI scores.
