IL2 and melanoma: Acting through cytolysis and/or antigen-presentation, CD56bright HLA-DR+ NK or pre-mNK cells may dampen the response to chronic low-level stimulation or self-antigen, for instance during established melanoma, but they activate a response under acute conditions of treatment-induced DAMPs, high-level PAMP stimulation, or high doses of γc-cytokines such as IL-2 or IL-15.
