Although previous reports have demonstrated that the SGLT2 inhibitors ipraglifozin [14] and luseogliflozin [15] improved diet-induced hepatic steatosis in a mouse model with impaired insulin secretion, it is unknown whether SGLT2 inhibitors improve hepatic steatosis in an obese diabetic mouse model with insulin resistance, and if so, whether it depends on body weight reduction. Here, SLC5A2 is linked to fatty liver disease.
