We observed miR-127-5p, which has been shown to reduce GBA activity (Siebert et al., 2014), down-regulated in PD brains, and miR-16-5p which has been shown to correspond to enhanced GBA protein levels (Siebert et al., 2014), was found up-regulated in brain in our study. The gene discussed is GBA1; the disease is Parkinson disease.
