Our observation that very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) was positively associated with nodal metastasis, may be explained by the association between dyslipidaemia and vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF C) [54], as VEGF C promote nodal metastasis in combination with inflammatory cascades mediated particularly through tumor associated macrophages [55]. Here, VEGFC is linked to inherited lipid metabolism disorder.
