miR-24 is regarded to as an oncogenic miRNA in various types of cancer because not only it targets DNA repair genes, such as H2AX [44, 45] but it has also been found upregulated in OSCC [49] (Figure 6D), hepatocellular carcinoma [50], glioblastoma [51] and breast cancer [74]. The gene discussed is H2AX; the disease is breast carcinoma.
