Mutations and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in BER genes are associated with numerous cancers, such as UNG2 (uracil DNA glycosylase) mutations in glioblastoma [37], MED1 (mediator complex subunit 1) mutations in colorectal cancer [38], and OGG1 (8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase) mutations in lung cancer [39]. Here, OGG1 is linked to colorectal cancer.
