Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL), is a member of tumor necrosis factor gene superfamily, triggers apoptosis in a variety of cancer cell lines through binding of TRAIL to death receptors, and death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) is formed by following recruitment of Fas-Associated protein with Death Domain (FADD) and initiator caspases1, 2. The gene discussed is FADD; the disease is cancer.
