We first measured M. tb ESAT6- and CFP10-specific IFN-γ+ T effector cells in the three groups of HIV-1-infected individuals using ELISPOT assay (T-SPOT.TB) as reported studies showed that CD4+ T effector cells appeared to be more dominant than CD8+ T cells within these peptide-specific T-cell population during M. tb infection. This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and tuberculosis.
