According to previous studies, transforming growth factor (TGF)-β has been regarded as a key regulator of renal fibrosis [4–6] and then incites connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) to induce the ECM induction and up-regulated the activities of profibrogenic factors in tubular cells, mesangial cells, and interstitial fibroblasts in fibrotic kidneys [7–10]. The gene discussed is CCN2; the disease is renal fibrosis.
