SOD2 and cancer: MnSOD expression (Fig. 6a,d,e) and activity (acetylation at Lys68 decreases MnSOD activity)25 (Fig. 6b,c) all raised in paralleled with increased Cu/ZnSOD expression in cancer cells (Fig. 6f), but decreased in non-cancerous cells (L02, HuvEc, HDF, primary hepatocytes) after hypoxia.
