Examination of a dataset (2014-Jan-12) from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) [32], through cBioPortal (cbioportal.org) [33], revealed that of 220 tumor samples, a 5 % ERBB2 mutation rate in diffuse, microsatellite-instable (MSI) and chromosome-instable (CIN) gastric cancer subtypes (Fig. 1a), consistent with previous studies [34]. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is gastric cancer.
