Accordingly, CHD patients with severe vitamin D deficiency (<10 ng/mL) were older, heavier, and with higher median PTH levels than patients with an optimal vitamin D status (>30 ng/mL) (Table 1), while serum 25OHD levels did not differ among the three CHD groups identified according the underlying congenital heart defect (Table 2). Here, PTH is linked to vitamin D deficiency.
