STAT3 and neoplasm: DR6-deficient mice show changes in cytokines production5 and prevent the mice brain vascular development.6 It has been reported that the canonical P38 MAPK and STAT3 pathway play important roles in tumor angiogenesis-related signaling,7, 8 and interleukine-6 (IL-6), one of the positive regulators of these pathways, is linked to the activation of tumor angiogenesis.9, 10 Therefore, we suggest that IL-6/P38 and IL-6/STAT3 pathways may be involved in DR6-related signaling in tumor angiogenesis.
