In further analysis restricted to nonselective NSAIDs users or COX-2-selective NSAIDs (Table 3), similar association between nonselective NSAIDs and risk of AKI was observed, but adjusted ORs were consistently closer to null in current (adjusted OR 0.98, 95% CI 0.66–1.46) and recent (adjusted OR 1.07, 95% CI 0.65–1.76), although significant in past (adjusted OR 0.74, 95% CI 0.57–0.94) users of COX-2-selective NSAIDs. The gene discussed is PTGS2; the disease is acute kidney injury.
