Evaluating 2-HG levels in astrocytomas and gliomas harboring various IDH1 mutations, Pusch and colleagues also showed that any mutations in IDH1 correlated with increased levels of 2-HG in human patient samples (Pusch et al., 2014), a trend also observed by Juratli and colleagues (Juratli et al., 2013). The gene discussed is IDH1; the disease is glioma.
