Baseline IL-6 was significantly associated with older age (r = 0.2, p = <0.001), greater adiposity score (r = 0.31, p = <0.001), higher depression (r = 0.09, p = 0.03), lower socioeconomic status (SES; grade of employment r = 0.17, household income r = −0.17, p = <0.001), and lower physical activity participation (r = −0.1, p = 0.02), but was not associated with baseline stress ratings (r = −0.07, p = 0.14), current smoking (r = 0.07, p = 0.13), statin use (r = 0.02, p = 0.60), and time of stress testing (r = 0.06, p = 0.17). Here, IL6 is linked to depressive symptom measurement.
