The proportion of Th17 cells, their subset effector memory Th17 cells (CD4+/CD45RO+/CCR7−), and the level of IL-17A correlated with disease severity as measured by the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), while the proportion of another subset, central memory Th17 cells (CD4+/CD45RO+/CCR7+), correlated with relapse frequency, in both MS and NMO [54]. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and myeloid sarcoma.
