Total cholesterol levels were significantly decreased in rats of the HF-P group as compared with those in the HF group (1.46 ± 0.13 mmol/L, p < 0.01), while serum triglycerides, fasting serum glucose, and insulin levels showed only a trend of decrease within the duration of the study (triglycerides, 1.02 ± 0.65 mmol/L vs. 1.31 ± 0.41 mmol/L, p = 0.669; glucose, 13.37 ± 1.32 mmol/L vs. 15.14 ± 3.85 mmol/L, p = 0.607; insulin, 3.75± 3.00 mmol/L vs. 6.49 ± 1.82 mmol/L, p = 0.167) (Figure 2). This evidence concerns the gene INS and hydrops fetalis.
