Notably, it is shown that the increased production of TNF-α, TNF-related weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) and IFN-γ (also known as TTI) in cisplatin-induced AKI may be an important promoter of necroptosis.55 However, whether TTI induces necroptosis of renal tissue in vivo directly in the background of cisplatin-associated AKI was not answered in this research. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is acute kidney injury.
